Imodium Instants are orodispersible tablets used in the management of diarrhoea together with fluid and electrolyte replacement. 

Imodium Instant Melts is a medicine which is used to treat sudden short-lived (acute) attacks of diarrhoea in adults and children aged 12 years and over.

It can also be used to treat diarrhoea associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) in adults aged 18 years and over after your doctor has diagnosed you are suffering from this condition.

The tablets contain loperamide hydrochloride which helps reduce diarrhoea by slowing down an overactive bowel, which helps the body to absorb water and salts from the bowel.


Who can use Imodium Instants?

Imodium® Instant Melts contain loperamide hydrochloride. For acute diarrhoea (aged 12+) and for medically diagnosed IBS diarrhoea (aged 18+). Always read the label

How to take Imodium

Adults and children aged over 12 years  take two tablets to start followed by one tablet after each loose bowel motion. Do not take more than 5 tablets in 24 hours for a maximum of 2 days

Place the tablet on the tongue. It will dissolve and cab be swallowed with saliva.

Side Effects

Side effects include headache and nausea. Please see patient information leaflet for a full list of known side effects.

Pregnancy or Breastfeeding

Consult your doctor before using if you are pregnant. Do not take if you are breastfeeding.

Ingredient

Each tablet contains 2mg of Loperamide ??as the active ingredient. Please see product packaging for a full list of other ingredients. Each pack contains 12 tablets.

Storage

Store Imodium Instants below 25C and remember to keep all medicine out of sight and reach of children. You should return any unused or date expired medicines to your pharmacist for safe destruction
